We make tubes from cardboard for battles, and participants make simple armor for themselves (or complicated, if they like!). We build castles and then we organize trainings, duels and team battles. The aim of the sport – winning creative energy from each other. The winners are those who get as much creative energy as possible!
The Tournaments consist of:
- A workshop for creating a cardboard castle. Or as an option, we can bring the part of castle with us to construct at the venue by us.
- A workshop for making tubes and armor. Or as an option, we can make tubes and armor in advance and bring to the venue with us for the participants.
- Individual trainings, duels, small or big team fights and 'capture the castle' challenges organized by us.
History of this sport inCardboardia:
In 2008 we setup the first Cardboard Tube Fight Tournament in a Cardboard Town located in Moscow (Russia). After a series of unofficial tournaments from 2013, The Cardboardia Ministry of sport decide officially joined to international The Cardboard Tubes Fights League. Since that time, we have been constantly conducting winter and summer battles, gathering hundreds of participants and thousands of spectators at our tournaments.
Organizational issues:
Duration of simple tournament:
– 1 to 2 hours for 1 set.
– 2 to 4 sets in a day.
Cardboard Tube Fights can be organized at any big venue – indoors or outdoor. We will need to discuss and agree safety issues.
At the venue we need:
– A 5 x 5m tent / marquee or indoor space with a floor, lights and power for staff dressing room
– A 5 x 5m tent / marquee or indoor space with a floor, lights and power for the storage of props and materials.
A tent / marquee or indoor place with floor, light and electricity for organizing workshop. The size depends on the amount of participants.
Cardboardia international team ranges in size from 6 to 10 people. If possible, we will need 4-10 volunteers at the venue. If possible we will develop this program during a 2-5 day workshop with local artists.
